Birth & Death Place

You can also drag’n’drop a different Place overtop the Place in the Event Editor. It is a bit faster than detaching/removing a Place from the Event and using the Place Selector again.

Use the clipboard to store a ‘palette’ of Places if you are going to do a bunch of Events in the same Places. (Such as when doing data entry for a large Family with the same birthplace or in the same Cemetery.)

When you create the first Event in that Place, drag the Place to the Clipboard before closing the Event Editor.

Or, if you are going to use a bunch of nearby places from a locality (within a township, for example) then expand the Township in your Place Category view, do an extended select and use the Ctrl-cCopy keybinding. All the Places will be added to the Clipboard and the Clipboard will be brought to front.

(Advanced hint, the experimental Relationship category CardView allows places to be updated with drag’n’drop without having to open the Event Editor for each event.)
