Where do I find log messages for failed plugin installs and updates

Ok, I went and found the Flat Filter mentioned in the Installation Errors message and installed it manually which gave

ERROR: Plugin file C:\Users\sam888\AppData\Roaming\gramps\gramps60\plugins\FlatFilter\FlatFilter.py has a version of "5.2" which is invalid for Gramps "AIO64-6.0.8--1".

File was found in the \CuratedGrampsPlugins-main\CuratedGrampsPlugins-main\gramps60\download zipped folder and opening up the addons gpr file shows

version="1.0.3",
gramps_target_version="5.2",

I changed the target version to “6.0” and restarted Gramps.

The addon is managed externally to the Gramps projects curated Addon’s by @emyoulation hopefully if he has a moment he can push a fix.

Flat Filter has been superseded. I suggest that you uninstall it and instead install the Person Relationship Filter from the main Gramps addons repo.

The original Flat Filter has remained available as springboard sample code.

Flat Filter was a 5.1 contribution by @bugbear with a request for a new maintainer to adopt it following his stroke.
I adapted it to work with 5.2 version.

Installation was only provided in the 6.0 and 6.1 Addon Managers to simplify the 1st step to adaptation. (@dsblank had made significant optimizations to the way rules are processed since that 5.2 version. So it not a simple “port”.) @dsblank then volunteered and improved Flat Filter in PR987 for release as the Person Relationship Filter. (Unfortunately, there is no README.md documentation in the new addon. But the PR987 has a Release Note that could be used as such.)

I liked Flat Filter (and Person Relationship Filter) with its Soundex fuzzy matching. But Soundex was not terribly accurate for certain name types. And I wanted the ability to search Primary and Alternative name parts separately. The posting about the added functionality got no response. Since there was no interest, the alternative version was not released.

But with inspiration from those gramplets, Claude and I created a Fuzzy Filtering collection of Phonetic system Rules and a Fuzzy Matching dialog with an API.
