Tip of the Day window on Mac

I am using Gramps 6.0.6 and Mac OS 26.3.0 on a Mac Air M2.

I can’t seem to even get started with Gramps! Tip of the day opens in a tab with the family file I created in another tab behind it in the same window. Cannot get Tip window to disappear; not by clicking Forward or close. If I click on the family file name tab, it disappears behinds the Tip window. The Tip window will not close or move out of the way, making it impossible to begin working in the family file. I want to import a gedcom from Reunion into this file.

What am I doing wrong here?

Kathy

That worked! (Of course it did, lol.) Thank you very much!

When there are detached windows, there should also be a Windows menu. You should be able to push any window forward that has fallen underneath another.

That should not happen for any ‘modal’ dialogs. But it has occurred in earlier releases. (Such occurrences should be reported so the window’s “parentage” can be corrected.) If it does happen, then Gramps appears to lock up. In that case, just press the Esc keyboard key to dismiss the dialog.
