Between yesterday and today many images are not being displayed in the Gallery and the Narrated Web Site build reports that it can’t find the path to the file. I can open the files ok from the image directory.
The only thing that has changed was a Windows update.
I have subsequently found that there are quite a few records in the Media folder that are missing the E:\ at the beginning of the string.
Any idea how this could happen?
That reads like the thumbnails folder is the problem. The Gallery and the previewing features leverage thumbnails rather than the actual media object.
Some reports of MS creating problems by changing support options for ‘long file paths’ appear when Googling the symptoms.
Try the addon to rebuild thumbnails: Tools → Utilities → Thumbnail Generator
