This is a mere annoyance. But that means it might be fixed with a minor tweak. Perhaps the reversal of a way a default preference is stored?
When upgrading, to a new version with and old gramps.ini, the interface opens in a ‘dark’ mode… even though I’ve invariably been using the pre-upgrade version of Gramps in the default Adwaita theme and with Dark Variant deselected.
To get back to normal, a user has to know to install the Themes addon. And change the Theme selection.
Oddly, when opening the Themes, it is not set to the Dark Variant of the default (Adwaita) theme. Instead, it is set to Adwaita-dark. And, since the theme list is not alphabetical, users might have to search a long list and remember that Adwaita is the default…
Using the Restore to defaults button sets back to Adwaita-dark, not the correct default theme.
