can i have places with birth or death dates in the pedigree view?
(gramps 5.1.5 / Ubuntu)
I did not find a possibility to configure such things by reading the docs.

No!
But you may want to look at the addon Graph View It has some overt configuration options as well as some under the standard view configuration options. 
Make sure to check out the Prerequisites of the addon.
