How can I get a count of descendants linked to a specific person?

Is there an easy way to select a person in my database and get a count of all individuals descended from that person?
This should also include spouses - the reports that I’ve tried usually don’t include this - or the numbering is not sequential, making it difficult to count.

I seem to remember there was a gramplet that could do this, but I haven’t used it in a while and can’t remember what it was called.

In the People category view, you could use a custom filter to select descendants and their spouses, and the filtered count will appear in the lower right corner.

Except that the Gramplet doesn’t include descendant spouses as you required. Only the custom filter the yields that count.

The gramplet does Descendant (only, no spouse) counts for each person in the Tree.

If you do only need descendants without spouses, the Number of Descendants addon Quickview does a more targeted descendants count:
