Ancestors Count Gramplet

(Gramps 5.1.5 Windows)

Is there a Gramplet that lets you see the count of ancestors a person has in the database? I haven’t seen a way to do this, and I think it would make for a nice Gramplet.

Example:

Parents: 2
Grandparents: 4
Great-Grandparents: 8
2nd Great Grandparents:16
3rd Great Grandparents: 31
4th Great Grandparents: 58

That way you can see how far back an individual is researched?

I know there is a descendant count, but it would also be nice if it could be organized in a similar way to show how many grandkids there are.

Yes, there is a “Number of Ancestors” quickview that you can use with the QuickView gramplet.

Oh thank you. silly me I must have been blind today.

The Pedigree Gramplet will not only tell you the total number of ancestors and break it down by generation, but it lets you pop-up a hotlinked list of each generation. (But it doesn’t indicate numbers affected by pedigree collapse.)

Use the Configure… toolbar icon or Edit menu item to restrict the number of generations.
