So… I’m slowly adding GPS coordinates to all my places. In the meantime I checked the geography view and get notice two different icons shown for places.
I’ve searched the inet and the wiki a lot but was not able to find an explanation about what those two different kind of map markers mean.
What do they mean? Where could I have found an explanation?
@SNoiraud has noted in other threads that the different map services offer varying Pin options in their APIs.
Likewise, the different views use different options for map pins.
Give me about an hour to look up a some vaguely recalled discussions. Then I’ll edit this posting with links and more info.
The wiki docs for the Ancestors Map addon view mentions the meaning of these map pins.
Thanks for the link into the wiki - that explains the pins I’m seeing.
But it really feels like someone chose those pins in a hurry without wanting to go through the trouble of creating new ones. Because they are far from self-explaining
