Jeg har begået et par små vejledninger om forskellige emner på dansk i min blog.

Importer GEDCOM i gramps:

For GEDCOM import, there is a workflow that automates the following “Starting a new Family Tree” from the wiki:

Starting a new Family Tree

To start a new Family Tree, choose the menu Family Trees → Manage Family Trees… or select the toolbar Family Trees button or use the keybinding CTRL+O. This will open the Family Trees manager window.

Select the New button and to add a new Family Tree entry to the list of Family Trees. To change its name from the default Family Tree 1, select the name and press the Rename button then type in a new name.

To open the new, empty Family Tree select the Family Tree and either double click or press the Load Family Tree button to load.

With Gramps not running, find the GEDCOM file in your OS and open it with Gramps. (This is usually a right-click context menu option.)

This will launch Gramps, create the Tree, rename it (in the pattern of the GEDCOM file’s name), load that Tree and start the Import.

Hint: this uses the current Preferences setting for whether to Tag and create citations during import. (For 5.2, this option is in the Import tab of Edit → Preferences dialog.)
