Descendancy chart in text

So I want to create a descendancy chart in text that looks like this (done in the style of Ed Mann’s descendancy charts):
..1 Example Person (1900 - 1959)
.. + Example Wife (1902 - 1965)
…2 Daughter (1921 - 1998)
… + Son-in-law (1924 - 2005)

I might have to code this myself, but how do I do this?

There’s an add-on “Lines of Descendency Report” text report, that might be a starting point.
Though it’s called “Lines” (plural) I can only make the report create one line.
