Can Image metadata support for Gramps be GExiv2 : 0.16 tolerant

Reported on RedHat.com

Fedora 44 ( Fedora installs version GExiv2 : 0.16)
Red Hat Bug 2520670 - “Gramps needs a specific version of the Gexiv2 module (0.10) and Fedora supply 0.16 what causes an error”

from Prerequisites gramplet:
Diagnostic Gramplet to help evaluate if Gramps has all prerequisites installed.
Optional
• GExiv2 : 0.10 (Exiv2 library : 0.27)

Continuing the discussion from Can Image metadata support for Gramps be GExiv2 : 0.16 tolerant:

I’m setting up Gramps 6.0.8 on Fedora 44 and get the error message “GExiv2 module not loaded” and an advice to see GEPS_029 (from 2013!) which explains that libgexiv2 must be version 0.5

As @emyoulation asked, can requirements be changed so libgexiv2 be 0.10 or newer?

Installed the Prerequisites Checker, which reports:

GExiv2: not new enough (Exiv2 library: 0.28)

This issue may be addressed by JRalls’ PR 2271 which didn’t make it into Gramps v6.0.8.

Would you be able to pull the files in that PR to test the change locally and let us know if it resolves the problem?

TIA.

[Edit] BTW, the change is included in 6.1.0-beta so you should not see the same issue there.

I copied the 3 files listed in PR 2271 to my 6.0.8 installation.
This solved the problem.
Thanks a lot.
