Can I install Gramps Web on my seedbox?

I’d like to set up Gramps Web on my seedbox, but there are certain restrictions in place which I’m not sure would be a game stopper. I wrote to my provider and asked about it, and got the following response:

Unfortunately, we do not perform custom software installations for our clients. However, you are welcome to install custom applications using your secure shell access (ssh).

It may be worth nothing that public, open access to your service is also allowed.

Before you decide to install any application, please be aware that:

  1. All custom applications MUST be installed under your home directory
  2. Unfortunately, for the security of our users, including you - we do not provide root or sudo elevated account permissions
  3. Docker apps cannot be installed (see point 2). Many software developers provide other installation methods that should be considered

With this information, can I install Gramps Web on my seedbox?

I don’t know if it’s possible, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. Setting up a complete Gramps Web install without docker is difficult, and you have to know what you’re doing.
