It is the same as Graphview. it is an external addon.
You’re right but this idea (the search field in personn’s view) is a good one and could be include the gramps core. It’s the goal of my post. It would simplify the day-to-day data entry.
I also was frustrated when the search disappeared from my Select Person dialog.
There is apparently a threshhold with Gtk tables. When the object count exceeds that number of rows, the search does not work and is disabled. (Other tools, like SuperTool, can address up to 1,000 rows at a time.) So is is something about only having 1000 rows of the data in memory to search. So results this “partial search” could be confused with searching everything.
There is another oddity in the search for Select Objects dialog. Assume that you searched for something then highlighted one of the resulting rows. If you then clear the selection criteria, the focus is navigated to that row in the unfiltered results.
Are you sure ? Because with the same database but in the Phototagging gramplet, it’s still work. Look at my screenshot in a previous post. (https://global.discourse-cdn.com/free1/uploads/gramps/original/2X/a/a43f375bb88f81593795b29265c3eabfff61a04d.png)
That is a Grouped list. Do you have more than 1,000 groups?
No less than 1000 groups
