Recording and gedcom Tags for Cause of death

Hi

Up to now I recorded Cause of death twofold: One death event and a second Cause of death element. [The following example cause of death is ‘Rote Ruhr’, aka ‘red dysentery’] That is transformed in gedcom export as follows:

1 EVEN Rote Ruhr
2 TYPE Cause Of Death
2 DATE @#DJULIAN@ 21 JUL 1689

2 PLAC Roßbach, Amt Königsberg, Landgrafschaft Hessen-Darmstadt

GEDCOM has an own Mark like:
1 DEAT
2 CAUS Rote Ruhr
2 DATE 21 JUL 1689
2 PLAC Roßbach, Amt Königsberg, Landgrafschaft Hessen-Darmstadt

should I switch to assigning an attribute to death event or would it be better to change code in gedcom export addon?

I use the Attribute Cause on the Death event. For me, the event is the Death. the cause is information about the death.

This ist really the right way from logical view.
But: even if I recode all my death-cause events to attributes: they will not be coded in geedcom als I need them for distributing
