macOS 14.6.1, Gramps 5.2.3
When generating a Complete Individual Report of a parent, citations for the children are included. When generating the report for the child, the parents are listed without citations.
Is this correct?
Am I missing a parent citation section?
I am not seeing this.
For the Parent’s CIR, it has S/C’s in their marriage section which includes the names of children. But the children do not have any S/C indicators.
And I tried a test where I gave my father one of my personal S/C so that we were now sharing the S/C. Reprinting his CIR had the S/C on his record but it ignored the same S/C on my record.
Sorry Dave, maybe screenshots will better explain.
I’m trying to become more organised and take a more evidence based approach to using Gramps.
I have plenty of information about James in his later life (removed here for briefness), but I don’t know anything about his early life or his parents. The only source I have that mentions a parent’s name is James’ wedding banns.
I’ve attached the banns citation to James under the children tab of the family of Edward Owen and Unknown mother.
In James’ CIR, there’s no citation listed next to Father. In Edward’s CIR, the citation appears next to James under the Family section.
Looking at the Children tab of Robert’s Family, it looks as if you have a citation for James as a Child in the family.
Click on James in the Children tab. An edit window that allows you to set the relationship of the child to each parent will open. The default is Birth. This Relationship will also accept a citation to document that relationship. I have never put a citation here but I can envision using it for an adoption citation.
