Windows 10, Gramps 5.2.3 (also tried 5.1.5 previously)
So when I installed the app I made a tree and so this is everything I see afterwards. I checked videos and tutorials and everyone has a tool bar where you’ve got a “+” button for adding people and editing records. Currently as I don’t have anything like this I can’t add people or anything to my family tree. I need some help!
P.S. I obviously tried to set the view but I didn’t find anything helpful.
It looks like you did not click Load Family Tree button after making a Tree with the New button.
That could be verified if your screen capture had included the Status Bar at the bottom of the window. That is blank if no Tree is loaded. But it would show “People Tree View 0/0” at the lower right if an empty tree was loaded. (That 0/0 means the ‘filter’ in the People Tree View shows zero people … out of a Tree containing zero people

Not stupid at all. Gramps lacks actionable feedback for New Users starting their first Tree.
If this proposed Gramplet had been on the default Dashboard, it probably would have eliminated this stumbling block.
