Limiting Export to 9 generations

I am trying to Export my data but I want to limit the number of generations it exports. Gramps: 5.1.5, OS: Ubuntu 220.4.5LTS

You can export (to Gramps XML family tree) People connected to your Home Person (the proband, although this “pseudonym” tree illustration has that labeled as the progenitor). Then import that to a new tree and carve away the excess generations.

Below is a test with a fan chart. It finds all the ancestors at least 4 generations away. Those great-great-grandparents (and further away) are the vivid color instead of the faded great-grandparents (and closer) generations.

To carve away, just use the same filter in the flat list People view, then select All and Edit → Delete.

Since you’ve alreaty exported and imported, this “carving away” is being done on a backup.
