Keyboard shortcut: top to bottom of editor window

Is there a way to get from the top half of the Person editor window to the bottom half using the keyboard only, other than [tab] 17 times?

Looks like there are Keybindings for Tabpage (of secondary objects) navigation (like “Change tabpage to the tabpage to the right”) and actions in the Tabpage toolbars.

Action/Function Microsoft Windows Mac OS KDE/GNOME
Change tabpage to the tabpage to the left Alt+← (Left arrow) Ctrl+⌥ Opt+← (Left arrow) Alt+← (Left arrow)
Change tabpage to the tabpage to the right Alt+→ (Right arrow) Ctlr+⌥ Opt+→ (Right arrow) Alt+→ (Right arrow)

But offhand, I don’t see some for Record selection navigation within the secondary object lists.

You could use Shift+Tab for half as many clicks :slightly_smiling_face:, but it’s still a pain.

Yes, you can use one of the access key shortcuts these are the underlined letters that I see on windows (may vary by operating system ) when I press and hold the ALT key and then the letter/number that underlined to go to that field or run that command.

So on the Person editor window to go the bottom half using the keyboard only I normally press the ALT key and then press the letter “e” twice to go to the “Events” tab ( unfortunately you have to press “e” twice because for some reason the “Gender” field is mapped to “e” also!

I’m not sure if This is documented in the Gramps user manual shortcuts.(thanks to CallmeDave) It may be different by operating system and desktop environment?

Happy new year :fireworks:

Thank you. I hadn’t thought of that (even though I do use the alt access keys). David
