Yes. There is now a new version (1.1.2) that supports events (and also citations and media). Thanks for the suggestion.
Temporarily change the Where to check: URL in your Third party addons management Preferences to look for Isotammi updates (in the /listings/addons-en.txt) at
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Taapeli/isotammi-addons/master/addons/gramps51
then restore the (in the /listings/addons-en.txt) list from
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gramps-project/addons/master/gramps51
Or download individual .tgz files via the add-on browser website created by @Mattkmmr
