[Discourse] Cannot change e-mail address

This is not related to Gramps nor genealogy

I’m trying to change my e-mail address under profiles. When I enter new address I get this message: We've sent an email to that address. Please follow the confirmation instructions.

I never receive an e-mail, neither to my new e-mail or my old e-mail inbox. The new e-mail address is unconfirmed, and there’s a link to resend confirmation mail, but nothing happens.

Could someone with discourse admin rights please look into this?

Regards

Claus

A quick question… what email service are you trying to confirm?

Yahoo has blacklisted the shared Discourse server farm in Canada as a spammer. (The Discourse maillist mode might send out too high of a volume of eMails. But it could be other hosted services on the same IP subnet.) And their blacklist is more aggressive than routing messages to the spam box. So all my confirmation mails to my Yahoo dot com account actually bounce. I had to use a Gmail account instead.

PS. As a moderator, I cannot view the eMail portion of your Discourse profile. I do not know if Admin accounts (@gramps-project , @Nick-Hall ) have visability to that portion.

You appeared to have 4 identical secondary email addresses that were unconfirmed. I deleted them and then added one again. You should receive an email.

I’m trying to use a Danish provider so my new e-mail is user-at-mail-dot-dk in stead of my old which is user-at-gmail-dot-com

Thanks @emyoulation and @Nick-Hall

I logged in to my Danish mail provider, and indeed all the confirmation mails were there tagged as spam.

I was about to suggest checking your spam folder. I only see two bounced emails for you in the logs, which relate to a mail-dot-com email address on 2 Aug and 26 Jul.

Yes, I’m so used to write dot com, that I mistyped the first attempt, which should have been mail dot dk.
