Debian changelog outdated?

Typing to find information about the 5.2 release status for the debian package.

Why is the debian/changelog for the master branch (at 4.0.3) so many versions behind the 51 maintenance (at 5.1.6-1)?

maintenance/gramps51/debian/changelog:

master/debian/changelog:

His whole master branch is way behind ours. And mine was a bit old too, but not that old.

It is not very relevant though, because as far as I know, he should build it from his own maintenance/gramps52 branch, and that doesn’t even exist yet, let alone that there is a 5.2.0 tag, which is something he needs if he wants to make sure that he builds the right version, even when new commits are added to gramps52.

Has anyone contacted Ross recently? Is he following what we do?

No, I haven’t heard anything from him recently.

I don’t usually contact the maintainers directly before a release. Communication is via posts on the gramps-devel mailing list. In the past, I have asked if a release date is convenient and then waited for a response from John and Paul. This time I didn’t, partly because I was building the Windows AIO myself.

We should wait a little while. Maybe he is busy.
