The default addons “Project” in the 5.2 (and newer) is curated by the Gramps-project team.

But others developers curate their own collections. Some are oriented towards a special interest.
Some addons might connect to APIs of services where the developer must execute a API License Agreement or API Developer Agreement. The Gramps-Project is not incorporated and cannot execute such agreements. So such addons cannot be distributed via the official collection.
Also, during the experimental phases some developers prefer immediate control of publication. (There tends to be more lead time to publish in the official repository.) This is useful when beta testing features before general release in the Gramps-Project collection.
These collections maintain their own catalogs; enabling simple installation with the Gramps Addon Manage
Please reply with any additional “Project” of which you are aware.
