I want to import a media object that should be in the gallery of up to a hundred individuals, is there any way to do this quicker than to go to every single individual gallery page and add it?
Ad hoc Bulk operations are easiest to implement with a SuperTool script.
SuperTool simplifies such tasks by allowing choose to apply the script action to All objects, Filtered objects, or Selected objects in a view. So you can use the GUI to target the action.
BTW, could this Gallery object be added to an Event (such as a ‘1936 Family Reunion in Springfield, USA’) and add that Event to those people instead? That gives place and time context to the image. And it will (typically) print only once in hardcopy reports instead of using ink for a hundred copies of the same image.
And a useful alternative is the “Photo Tagging Gramplet” addon. It uses the same photo but keys on the cropped thumbnail in the Person’s Gallery.
