Alternative Deep Gallery?

I’ve been using Gramps for many years; my current version is 6.0.8 on a Linux KDE Neon PC, and I’m really happy with it, even though the learning curve was steep.

There used to be a third-party plugin called “Deep Gallery,” but I don’t see it anymore… which is a shame! It was very practical for monitoring data entry; with one click, all the media for every item on the individual’s record appeared.

The only alternative I find interesting is the Combined View of the Relationships category—it’s actually my go-to view. Could the Album tab of this view support what Deep Gallery used to do? That would be great. Thanks!
Note: Besides my personal use, I sometimes introduce people to Gramps, and I approach it as visually as possible, using Graphview, Combined View, and Recent Item for ergonomics and user-friendliness, which isn’t always obvious for a first-time user.
Thanks to the developers!

Deep Gallery was never submitted to become an official Gramps addon. It is still available as a manual install.

Make sure you upgrade the gramps_target_version="5.1" in the deepgallery.gpr.py file to your current version.

There is also a pull request that was never merged. It extends the gallery to include event gallery items.

Yes. I don’t see a problem with extending the functionality of the Album tab.

Thanks for your replies; I’ll try installing it manually, though I’m no expert.
