Gramps 5.1.6

I would like to see a persons citation as easy as I can see his/her gallery image.
How can that be done without involving several steps.

You can use the Citations gramplet
If you only want to list all citations related to a person, click on the name in the People view and the bottom pane, Citations
tab will display the list, no matter to which secondary object it is attached to.
If you want all details about citations, there is no standard global view. Presently, you must double-click items in the list above to access contents.
That’s discussed in another thread. (I’ll link it later as it eludes my searching currently. The “How do you find citations attachment points” thread approaches the idea a little.) Nick mentioned an experiment that showed all the secondary citations too. But that it was on the backburner until after the 5.2 release.
I have stored extracts (images) from a persons churchbook in Citation/Gallery.
When I choose a person I want to see that extract-images easely.
As I understand from your posts that it is not possible …
The gallery gramplet shows thumbnails. (Since some of the full images are overly large and slow to load.) But double-clicking opens whatever viewer helper application that your OS has linked to the filetype. So preview is fast and opening is pretty fast with a SSD… not nearly as fast if you use a mechanical hard drive.
You might also want to try the experimental CardView addon. It comes in handy when you’re wanting to browse an overview of the data.
I have asked myself the same question as you for a long time: the data in Gramps is strictly hierarchical and therefore access to some of this data is difficult.
This is the case for Citation/galleries
The most effective solution I use is Nick Hall’s Relations/Combined view in the events tab…great!!!
In the meantime maybe another project : https://gramps.discourse.group/t/problem-in-switching-to-combined-view-false-person/4709/16
Otherwise there is
In the tab ‘Relationship/Combined/Event’ I get for a person:
When I click at Birth I will get two tabs:
but the Citations-tab is blank
Where have I missed?
Try the “Deep Gallery” gramplet created by @ukulelehans .
After creating ~/.gramps/gramps51/plugins/deepgallery I downloaded the files from
and started Gramps … but I don’t see the the layout in ‘Relationships’
You need to add the Deep Gallery gramplet in that view if you want to see it. If it is not in the list of available gramplets to add, you can go into Help - Plugin Manager to make sure it is installed.
Thanks … now it works
