Adding second and third marriages to a female ancestor

My computer is a Mac and my version of Gramps is 6.0. I have a female ancestor who I did not realise lost her original husband when he was young. It seems she married again - and in fact also, for a third time. The first two husbands both died young, there was no divorce. I have created a record for the second husband, but do not see how I can attach him (or his successor) to this female. Alternatively, when I try instead to + a second husband to the female’s record I only see other life event options such as ‘baptism’ or ‘burial’.

Can anyone advise with the detailed steps, please?

You do this by creating new families.
Select “Families” in the left side Navigator. Then click the [+] icon in the toolbar to create a new family. In the Family editor select the existing female (use the square icon with a hand to the right of “Mother/Partner2”), and then for the new husband click the small [+] to the right of “Father/Partner1”] to create a new male person or click the “existing person” icon, if you already have added the person.
Repeat for third husband

Create three families. One with the first husband, the second with the second and the last with the third.

I use the Relationships view as my main view.

With the woman as the Active Person, go to the tool bar and select the Add a new Family with Person as Parent icon Gramps-spouse . Or from the menu >> Edit >> Add Partner. Half the parents in the family will be already filled!

Thanks for your prompt reply. That fix seems to have worked. How you add marriages in Gramps seems to be the main difference to my old software, Brothers’ Keeper. Now when I look at her profile, with each marriage the ‘participants’ are given. I note that on the entry for her second and third marriages she bears her maiden name as a participant, not her former married name. I hope this is correct.

Gramps allows assigning date ranges for each alternative name for a person. So for events listed for a particular date, the name will be shown in that preferred format.

Thought the 8 marriages of Elizabeth Taylor would be a good set of sample data. (Another possibility would be Zsa Zsa Gabor, who had 9 marriages but only 8 where valid.)

In the Relationships view, you can also click on the ‘+’ (tooltip: Add
a new family with person as parent) above the spouse of an existing
family. Once you have more than one family, the reorder icon will be
added by each family and can be used to reorder the spouses if needed.
