Web API as master DB for Gramps Desktop

Are there any plans to enable Gramps desktop to use the Gramps Web API as a DB?

This would allow having one central location, no separate syncing, multiple users (with a choice of desktop or web) all collaborating.

Just a thought I had, playing around with Gramps, sync, Web etc.

Simple enough if the DB is readonly, but as soon as you allow writing, the locking issues become “quite complex”

I’d settle for read-only.
