View Associations in

Hi. I am trying to add an association for two people. I can relatively easy add it in the associations tab of a person. But the association is only shown when I edit the person. I could not find the association any where else. Is there a way to see all associations of a person in any panel besides the edit panel?

See the “Combined” view in “Relationship View”
One of the most concise views I know, and it saves a lot of clicks
For example, images associated with quotes
Please excuse what is probably a poor translation

That view is an Addon.

The Combined (and the manually installed CardView which is built on Combined’s framework) must be installed before that feature will be available.

Thanks for the help! I am a bit sad that this only exists as an addon, but at least it exists as such.

Addons are fairly easy to install. Go to menu >> Edit >> Addon Manager or the green puzzle piece icon. You can search for Combined and install the view. While there you may also want Sync Associations. This is a tool that takes the one side of the association you create for a person and adds the reciprocal association for the other person. Once installed, you may want to check the list of reciprocal associations. If you have custom association types, you can easily add them to the list in any plain text editor by copying the syntax of the other entries. Go to your Plugins folder in your user directory. /gramps60/plugins/SyncAssociations and edit SyncAssociations.py. It is a text file.

Because the Combined is a view, you will not have access to it until you restart Gramps.
