It is not really difficult.
You have your genealogical media on your hard drive. Your 5.1 installed program can see and find them.
Make the media path name in 5.2’s Preferences match the same path name you have in your 5.1 Preferences.

This is a bit weird, because when you upgrade from 5.1 to 5.2, the database path should stay the same, meaning that it should stay in
AppData\Roaming\gramps\grampsb
and not in gramps\gramps52, because that folder should be reserved for add-ons and settings that are specific for version 5.2.
There is also no need to restore anything from a backup, because during the upgrade process of the database, it stays in the same gramps\grampsdb folder.
Another thing is, that the backup folder should not be the same as the media path. I have that in the cloud, and the standard location is a bit weird, because you normally don’t look inside your personal users folder.
On Windows 10, my folder names are as shown here:
The 5.2 Windows version was doing some weird things, subbing in {{GRAMPS_RESOURCES}}
for the media base path during the beta. This might be related.
See
0009313 : Provide a means to set the base media path similar to GRAMPSHOME
I had no idea of that bug, but I believe that @Abelle123 installed the release version, so it shouldn’t interfere with the upgrade.
All in all, I think that she can better return to 5.1.6 now, make sure that all media are OK, and then try the upgrade again, to 5.2.3, or simply stay with 5.1.6.
