@Nick-Hall does it make sense in multiple ConnectPack Addons which are out of date? WebSearch uses all theirs links + these links are partially reviewed, updated and supplemented. The presence of these packages will confuse users. In addition, removing these packages will reduce the amount of text that needs to be translated in Weblate.
Maybe we can ask the authors of these addons what they think? At least my “UA Web Connect Pack” should be removed. But I believe all them should.
It is fine with me to remove any of my old gramplets if there are better versions. Thanks!
Our policy is to only remove addons if the break our guidelines (for example, if they contain malicious code), or if the owner requests removal.
Hopefully you have reused existing strings in your addon rather than creating new ones.
Sure I have reused existing strings but added a space to each of them
I will still use the Web Connect Pack (at least for People). Muscle Memory is hard to change. I will use a combination of options.Connect Pack for People and Web Search for Sources and Places.
There are many addons that I either do not install or hide once installed. Users have options what they choose to install and use.
OK, then it means these addons are in demand , so my question is no longer relevant
Same for me.
It seems that I started the french and the german one.
Note, the ‘archive.org’ is maybe missing on your links for urls under french locale? e,g,. https://www.archive.org/search.php?query=“%(surname)s+%(given)s”&sin=TXT
yeah, it was moved from FR to COMMON links because didn’t have fr locale
OK. I’ll check to see if any of the translations are duplicated. We don’t want to ask the translators to translate two virtually identical versions of the same string.
I couldn’t see any duplicated translations so I have updated Weblate with the new translation strings.
Probably I’ve fixed duplicates already
e.g., link for ‘WebSearch’ translation strings in french
