Place Hierarchy problems

Hi all,
i work on Gramps 5.2.2 on Win 11.
Today i want work on my places and it works not like i think that must be working.
The problem i have is the temporal change of name from the Kingdom of Bohemia to the Duchy of Bohemia.

The place on top i have is “Heiliges Römisches Reich”, “Königreich Böhmen, between 1198 and 1918. Herzogtum Böhmen, until 1197”, “Südmährische Region”, “Znaim” and at last the village “Erdberg”

The change from Kingdom of Bohemia to the Duchy of Bohemia would not display on a persons birtday.

I create a fictional person once time there is born at the Year 1000. He must lived in the “Herzogtum Böhmen”. But he lives in the “Königreich Böhmen”

When i switch the birthdate to 1500 they display the same.

I think it worked like this in an older version of Gramps? I don’t know.

Stefan

It is important to place a date range on the Preferred Name for the Place.

Unlike the Person names (that gives good visibility to the date range of a Primary Name at the top of the Aternative Names tab), the preferred name for Places is not included in the Alternative names list. So the date range is not shown for the Preferred name anywhere but the Place Name Editor.

It makes Place Names seem flakely and unpredictable.

This concealed idiosyncrasy bites many users and comes up regularly in forums.

Ok, i works now.
I gave the place name on top a date.

and delete the main name in alternate place name.

What confused me was the question mark in the place hierarchy. But in the person birthday are that display ok

You safe my live
