I have a different take on this task. A few years ago, I was not satisfied with the flat bed scanner on my all in on printer.
I got to thinking about the camera in my phone and realized it had better resolution. I setup a copy stand with a couple of desk lamps and proceeded to “scan” my photo collection with my phone. I tried a few different Android apps and settled on Turboscan PDF scanner. It has proved to be versatile for image scanning as well as pdf scanning. I can quickly crop as I go.
