There is a broken Licensing menu on the Special:Upload wiki page.
There are no menu items for the Licensing choices. (I could have sworn that I filed a bug on this. But cannot find it by searching. Perhaps it was another report lost to the MantisBT security token timeout.)
Also, could the Introductory Text for this Special page be customized?
@Patsyblefebre and @Gioto have to frequently rename screen captures to conform to filename guidelines.
I can never find the guidelines when needed. And my Uploads of new (as oposed to updates, which have an example to follow) screen captures so infrequently that I cannot remember the naming schema.
@StoltHD correctly pointed out that the tracking of copyright for artwork used in the Gramps Project seems to be less meticulous than for code.
Take for instance, the splash.jpg of grandpa Allingham used in so many places.
Obviously, it was sourced from the creator of Gramps, Don Allingham, or his father. Then someone applied a variation of sepia tone and softened the edges.
For a valid copyright release, don’t we need to be able to have the provenance documented? if we need to “res it up” as display tech evolves, we would be better off with more original files.
And I’d like to remain consistent with the clipart and fonts used in the packaging mockup. Who created it and where are source files?
This can be customised by adding entries to our MediaWiki:Licenses
page. Corresponding license templates would also need to be created.
There are some mediawiki examples for GFDL and GPL.
Yes, we can just edit the page, but I’m not sure how translations would work.

Perhaps it could be a simple link called “File Name Guidelines”. Then just worry about the Translations for the linked page.
