Simple question: I’d like to have a complete family tree (38 people in my records now), with my most recent relatives at the top of the page and everyone else descending. How can I accomplish this? Even a tree of 2-4 pages would be appreciated as well.
@emyoulation Please be advised that the second link just goes here. The first one does have some relevant content. I see that @tbsprs managed to accomplish what I’m intending to do. But he describes it as a hack. I’m asking if the program as it stands includes this feature. If it doesn’t, you should consider adding it.
After importing my family data, I do understand a bit better how the program works. So I am trying to make use of its features.
That workflow to a visualization of the whole tree is a hack.
But we haven’t had a volunteer to take the reins for a built-in forest/overview feature. Although some of the addons and data pipelines to external tools have some intriguing approaches.
For a small tree like that try using the Interactive Family Tree addon and then in the Topola Viewer select View All Relatives than then use the ‘Download to PNG’ option. I suggest that output format because, in my experience (using Gramps on Windows with Firefox as my browser), the Print feature or the other download options in the Topola Viewer don’t work as expected.
NB the Interactive Family Tree always puts ancestors at the top so that wouldn’t meet your requirement to have:
Even so, it might be worth a look, it’s quick and easy to try out.
