Displaying relationship in relationship view

gramps 5.1.6 on Manjaro cinnamon; Looked in wiki and online to see if there was a way to have the relationship to home person displayed at top of screen for the active person while in relationship view, but didn’t find anything.

In preferences, you can choose to show it in the status bar, at the bottom of your screen, see:

https://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Gramps_5.1_Wiki_Manual_-_Settings#Display

This works in all views where you can select a person.

You can also add the Deep Connections Gramplet to the sidebar. This shows the shortest path between the selected and the home person:

This Gramplet can be slow for large trees, especially if you increase the generations limit in preferences.

Thanks, I looked at that wiki pages several times and missed that.

There is a “How to find the relationship between people” wiki page which lists multiple options:

The status bar preference and the Relation to Home Person Quick Report (using the Quick View gramplet) are probably the 2 most responsive versions.

The Deep Connections gramplet is useful … but a horrible resource hog.
