Just last night I was able to spin up a Gramps Web instance with DO and today I was going to spin up a new intsance and the Gramps Web link on their marketplace is giving me a 404. Why was it taken down?
I had no idea, thanks for flagging. Will investigate.
Yesterday, I was somehow able to find a DO marketplace listing for Gramps Web. (Not finding it today.) Disturbing that the version listed was still a 0.22.x and hadn’t been updated since 2023.
So if Digital Ocean restores the droplet, it may need to be checked periodically to verify that they actually do maintenance updates.
Indeed, it seems to have been suspended just between those two points in time. Still no answer.
No, that’s not a problem because this is just the version of the docker-compose files and the init script, which are still working fine, while it always pulls the latest version of the **Docker image**.
Did anyone from DO get back with you?
Yes. It only took me a few weeks to realize because I wasn’t notified of the reply. They asked me to update the base image.
I then faced a few technical difficulties in doing that - I realized I needed to update one of the scripts they require in the build process.
I have now just managed to resubmit the image. The app is now showing as “Under Review”. With some luck, it might be back up tomorrow.
