Can't access anything in my iCloud Documents folder [macOS security]

I am using Gramps 6.0.6 and Mac OS 26.3.0 on a Mac Air M2.

I cannot access my Documents folder, which is in my iCloud and where my media is located. The error comes up: “Could not read the contents of Documents. Error opening directory ….. Operation not permitted.”

When I was first trying to get started, I declined to let Gramps into my Documents folder. (I thought I could change that later …. nope.) I’m assuming that is the issue here? When I go to Get Info on Documents, there is no place showing permissions. How can I fix this?

Thank you,

Kathy

Open System Settings, select Privacy & Security → Files and Folders.
Find Gramps in the list of applications, click the ‘>’ to see access list and give access to the Documents folder.

Also change in Gramps Settings → Family Tree → Path to Media
Should be someting like /Users/YourName/Documents/TopMediaFolder

OK. I did all that and now my media path shows correctly. Thank you!
