Gramps 5.1; Mint 30.3
Is there a way to distinguish between birth and adoptive parents in graphical reports? For instance in a Family Lines Graph?
Can’t find anything in the online docs for v5.1 (but there is a mention for v5.0)
Thanks,
John

Unfortunately, the report Family Line Graph does not differentiate between adoptive and birth parents.
One view/report you may want to consider is the addon Graph View. It is a view added to the other Charts views. It adds a Printer icon to export to a SVG file.
This assumes that a child is listed as adopted. I assume you have done so but for other users… Edit the family record that contains an adopted child. in the Children tab, double-click on the adopted child and edit their relationship to one or both parents.
When I attempt to install Graph View, I get “Installation Errors The following addons had errors: Graph View”
However, the “Relationship Graph” is an acceptable work around.
Thanks for trying.

You need to install for many plugins:
sudo apt-get install gir1.2-geocodelib-1.0 gir1.2-goocanvas-2.0 gir1.2-osmgpsmap
gir1.2-goocanvas-2.0 did the trick. Thanks.
Is this dependency listed in the docs somewhere that I missed?
Well, I would not say ‘missed’. Just it isn’t there where you needed it. The Graph View add-on’s wiki page has a Prerequisites section.
But it is something of a Catch-22.
The help link to the documentation is only active in the GUI after the add-on is functional. There is no link to the wiki page to help you decide whether you need the add-on. Nor in the Registration error dialog to help you troubleshoot.
You have to become experienced enough to track the docs down through the 3rd-party Addon List table.
Or search the missing piece here in the forum or on the wiki.
The add-on Gramplet “Prerequisites Checker” helps but mostly in identification, not resolution.
I just added the package name for Fedora, and removed an outdated note for LMDE.
