Gramps version 5.2.3 on Linux Mint
Is there a general To-Do list (task) Something like What Next?
I’m missing a feature / list, where I can specify check list, as:
Birth (date, place, link to source) and so on.
What do you guys do to remember missing task?
There is a To Do type for notes.
And there multiple To Do gramplet variants of which you should become aware.
Beside there being separate
built-in To Do gramplet and the
experimental add-on To Do gramplet, those gramplets filter differently bases on which category of view has the Gramplet.
In the dashboard, the To Do list is unfiltered. It find ALL notes of To Do type. In the other views, the gramplet finds the To Do notes for the active (1st selected) record.
It is unclear (at least, to me) how Gramps determines the order in which to show these unfiltered Notes in the Dashboard. So I just let it show me the 1st Note, create a duplicate note for that object and commandeer the original Note.
I’ll put those generic workflows (that you mention above) into the commandeered To Do type Note.
It is a maintenance nightmare to create To Do notes for each object where basic information is missing.
Instead create To Do notes when you have unusual tasks. (Such as when you discover 2 similarly named people who might have cross-linked data. But where you don’t have the bandwidth to untangle.) You can use filters to find other specific omissions. And you can add workflows for those filtering in your Tree’s main To Do note.
Use the Verify the Data utility tool to find records that have typical ommissions/conflicts.
