Inport merge two tree databases

Ver 6.0.8 on Mac Tahoe

This was asked here in 2022 and I wondered if anything is new to help wth this in ver 6.0.8

I have a very simple data base..no citations or media and basic places ..just three.

I was wanting to create a new tree data base of some new historic data 16-1700’s where there will be just one connecting family…So one family in my current data base (tree) is the top level family in my new one.
7 offspring in the family I referred too above…one is the descendants in my current tree.
I’d put /build all the other six in to the new tree, then merge them in to my current on win some point in future…should it be necessary.

Yes, I could just put them in my original tree now..but had hoped to keep them separate for now

The upcoming 6.1 release for FamilySearch interoperability will establish a framework that might apply.

It will have a system to define a relationships between IDs in Gramps and Profile numbers in the “World Tree” of FamilySearch.

I suspect that this aliasing-of-identifiers between Trees will quickly bleed through into other Gramps tools. That might allow Aliasing between different Gramps Web hosted trees and Gramps (for desktops) trees – and make Gramps Web Sync development opportunities. Such as using it between 2 local trees, not just between a local tree and Gramps Web remote tree.
