I’m trying to print out the Gramps User Manual, but when I get to past the Table of Contents all the text and illustrations are small. Except for the Header, Subheadings and Footings and page numbers. In the Properties the document size in A5, Portrait (148 x210mm) 5.83 × 8.27 inches. I can’t read the text. I’ve tried everything basically to get the text to enlarge 1. Printer Settings 2. Libre Office Draw, PDF Arranger. Can anyone Help? I Sure would appreciate it. Thanks in Advance!

The first figure, Figure 0.1 (on page 9), should be half the width of the page. Is that what you see? Is it readable in Acrobat, but not printed?
Thanks for the response! I downloaded in English. The first figure 0.1 is 1/2 width of the page. I can read it in Okular, PDF Arranger and the linux mint document viewer fine. When I try to print it out the text is really small. I’m trying to take notes while learning the program. It is faster if I write them instead of putting them on a text document to save on the computer. Just works better for me. 
I just don’t like flipping screens all the time. Fear of Genealogical Rabbit Holes.

Open the document with Adobe Acrobat (free version). Selecting Print brings up the print menu. I have a Mac, so my settings may be different, but in the Page Sizing and Handling section, you can choose either ‘Fit’ or ‘Custom Scale’. If you change Custom Scale to 130%, it still (barely) fits on a 8.5X11 page. You can see the page in the preview and adjust as needed. Here are the screen shots of the print menu for actual size, fit, and 130 custom scale:
I used wkhtml2pdf to generate the PDF. The following options were used. If you have suggestions on improvements for the next release of the PDF manual, please let me know
wkhtml2pdf: -s A5
Footer: --footer-font-size 8
Header: --header-font-size 6
Outline: --outline-depth 1
Are you suggesting to use a --minimum-font-size argument, for instance? The manual is 500 pages (not counting the Addons doc) currently.
I’m on Linux Mint so I will have to figure out how to do Adobe with Winehq. I don’t mind a 500+ manual. I use recycled paper. LOL. I think it has to do something with the paper size A5 which it should probably be Letter 8.5 x 11. I tried to change it to A4 or Letter/ANSI A but that didn’t work either. If I could find a way to edit the file in Linux because Libre Drawing doesn’t work. I could take off the page numbers- increase the font size of the text - then add the page numbers? Make sense? By increasing the size of the font, the index will have to be redone, right? Maybe --text-font-size 12 ? I’ll have to go and play with this. I must look at format styles. I’ll get back to you soon. I’m brainstorming in trying to open this in a text editor. Tried to do a print to file into an output file and that didn’t work. I’m getting ready to go watch the fireworks. You might be my cousin with that last name. I’m an American descended from European and Native Americans. I’ll let you know my results most likely tomorrow. Thanks!
The process to create the PDF is at https://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Manual_Generation_5.1 . You could add a flag to set min font size and try to regenerate. But since users can edit any page, the script could break.
Scaling to the printed page is the easiest approach. If you need to re-format the page, then regenerating the PDF from the HTML is probably the solution. You could do that one chapter at a time if you didnt want an overall TOC. Feel free to message me directly with specific questions.
I’ll try that. I did convert the PDF to docx file. I can’t open the docx file in Libre Office/writer. I have to go find a windows OS computer That part of the text that I can’t print out in a larger font size is called Body Text in formatting. I’ll let you know if what you suggested works.
