Hi, I can’t seem to find the setting to increase the font size in the app. I’m finding it’s a strain to use the default size for very long. thanks
It requires an additional addon to be installed.
- “Theme” Preferences addon - that allows you to select and different Font and the “point size” of the font.
Please mention what version of Gramps and operating system you are using?
Thanks for the tip. I’m using the latest version on Mac, evaluating whether it should become my main genealogical tool.
Glad you’re using the 6.x version. The Theme fontsize just started affecting the base fontsize when displaying Notes with the Gramps 5.2 version.
Before that, we had to use styling (aka markup, markdown) within each Note. (The GUI changed with Themes but the Note content did not.) Gramps is continually evolving as people find things to improve.
And the extra font sizing had unfortunate side-effects interacting with reports. (Where Note content base font size was different from the test of the Report’s text.)
The creator of the SuperTool (@kku) addon then kindly wrote a script to selectively remove stylings rather remove ALL styling from selected text. And that was done overnight and available for immediate use.
(With SuperTool virtually any functionality can be layered onto Gramps.) This kind of flexibility and agility is one of the reasons to adopt Gramps. The community is not shackled to “the way” (or mindset) of a particular user.
