I have an old Macbook that I’m thinking of reloading with Linux. I’ve heard good things about the “elementary OS” variety, as suggested in this review.
Has anyone used elementary OS, and more importantly, have you used Gramps on it?
Thanks.

elementary OS is an Ubuntu-based desktop distribution so I don’t see why the existing Debian installer on the download page would not work as Ubuntu is based on Debian.
follow these instructions
https://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Download#Debian-based
The main Gramps user mailing list shows that at least one person has been using Gramps on that OS since 2016
