Since a week I have constant (irregular) crashes. Can’t reproduce when or why.
I used python -m trace -t Gramps.py >/tmp/trace.out
To see whats happening.
I do get the trace.out, but GRAMPS itself doesn’t show. Nothing seems to happen.
The traceout is filled however. I have included it in the upload. as pdf (all 45 pages)

What can I further try?
By crashes, do you mean to say Gramps exits completely to the desktop? No unhandled exception window to submit a bug report?
Yes, exactly that.
Also had a complete system freeze while using gramps last week. which lost my ini file.
If you’re getting a hard crash with an exit to the desktop, see comments in bug 13895 for steps on how to enable crash dump capture. Once you have a crash dump, copy-paste the summary information and share it here. It will tell us which module it is crashing in which won’t solve the issue, but it will be a start.
I think I have found the culprit. I do not know how the interaction worked.
Just days prior before the crashes started I updated the NVIDIA app and control panel.
I witnessed are strange behaviors, like a constant growth of drive usage, screen flickers, loss of screen background. I have now deleted the software and have had no GRAMPS crashes yet.
If that update was to the 616.56 driver, it was a bad release by Nvidia, it broke numerous applications. It was replaced a couple of weeks later by 616.92, which is OK.
