GRAMPS appimage

I would like to have a GRAMPS appimage. I install Gramps on 2 desktops and 2 laptops. I sync them with Nextcloud. GRAMPS is installed on linux Mint 22.1 under an environment variable (Ennoborg, thanks again). An appimage GRAMPS 5.2 would make life a lot easier for syncing and without the need for long , long searching to install all depencies. Has anybody managed to make an appimage of GRAMPS ?
Peter, Linux Mint 22.1, Gramps 5.2.4

The predecessor of appimage was Klik here is the page on the Gramps (Sentence case “Gramps” not uppercase “GRAMPS” any more) wiki with details of previous attempt

Flatpak from Flathub are available for Gramps that do the same thing as far as I can tell, why not use them?

dear Dale,

I considered flatpak for this. But I got the strong impression that flatpak use would be extremely complicated for use for this purpose if not impossible. The files used by flatpak are much more dispersed over the linux mint installation than an Appimage Gramps.

No idea, only pointing out an option that I do not use.

Consider raising a Feature request to package Gramps as an appimage as you are first to mention it?

Are you trying to say that the dependency you need for a Gramps addon that you want to use is not available in the Gramps flatpak? Which dependency?

If you are saying that the data files used for the Gramps flatpak will be in hard to find places compared to a system installed version of Gramps, that is no longer true for Gramps. The Gramps flatpak has full home directory access just to make sure that people can go back and forth between a flatpak and system installed version of Gramps. Any linux installation of Gramps 5.2 or later will use xdg specified directories unless ~/.gramps already exists, regardless of whether it is system installed or a flatpak.

Thank you for your answer. I will try to install a Gramps flatpak with a environment variable. I will report the reults.
