GEDminer (website) In-browser GEDCOM analysis

This post isn’t about Gramps, it just something I came across:

I’ve not tried it, being very cautious about uploading stuff but the privacy policy reads well:

It implies that (like when you use the Topola Viewer) no data leaves your machine. At least not unless you sign up for an account.

My initial reaction is to not trust a “new” commercial website that claims to offer gedcom analysis for nothing. In this era of data mining Gedminer must be getting something in return for the analysis to make the site viable. Is the source code open? I’d like to see independent network analysis. Whois indicates that Dynadot Inc is the registrar, and the contact is Dynadot Privacy Service (a privacy proxy). Mmmmm?

I think that I’ll drop the Gramps sample data base on the interface and see what happens. I’m expecting all sorts of errors.
