In the Sources/Citation View you can add a gramplet to view note(s). Only one note is shown. So when you select a Source or Citation from the list, you immediately get to see the attached note. Does that solve the problem?

I installed the gramplet called “Note Gramplet”, but I can only add it to the People view. Not to the Sources or Citations views.

I must have installed it during a previous version but it is still there in 5.2.3. I would have thought that it would show in any view once installed.

They are two different gramplets. “Notes” is builtin and available in multiple views. “Note” is an addon and is available only in the Person view.
