To do what?
- to be able to click it: in a note
- to export it in a Gedcom file: in a note or the Publication field
- to send your data to Geneanet using the GedcomToGeneanet addon: in a note, the Publication field or using a source or citation attribute
To do what?
If you like to have a complete discussion about GEDCOM Import and export, start it in a new thread. I will be there.
First it is a question of the target:
Then there is a question about the software architecture: should there be a central import/export module that can read and write any GEDCOM standard format or are there several modules for 5.5.1, for 7.0, and so on. Support for user configured import and export filters and conversions for special needs.
And then project management: staffing, responsibilities, priorities, migration, documentation, testing, …
I currently use a software program (Heredis) that allows me to specify a URL into a specific field in a source (clickable link), but unfortunately, this program is only available for single-user use.
I’d like to try the Gramps Desktop + Gramps Web combo with its synchronization (but no Geneanet export).
However, I’d only make the switch to Gramps if I don’t lose any important information (witnesses) and if I regain a minimum of the “comfort” I had with Heredis.
I’d like to have the equivalent of clickable links for citations of recorded documents.
What is the best method?
Thank you.
Where can I formulate a feature request that a URL in a source publication field should become clickable?
Maybe you could ask @DavidMStraub too to know how Gramps Web manage web links and choose the best way for you
Gramps Web detects links and makes them clickable almost everywhere. See here for the almost completed feature request.
Good evening,
Thank you !!
I just have to figure out how to use it (no idea yet, and I'm a bit lost)
This source simply references where this map came from. I usually don’t find a citation necessary; I just attach the map to the place record and that’s enough. Its references are sufficient. Sometimes I might only take a piece of the map and then I might add a citation explaining why there’s only a portion of the map.
I attach the note to the object, here the source, on which I want to work. I only link to this object when it is only a working reference.
