I have not experimented to find the answer, thought I would ask here first.
I have not been creating a Married name for women unless they have been married multiple times.
By not creating one for the single name change, am I missing something that would benefit me. Like is it included in reports, searches or other features I have not thought about. What is the advantage of doing so? TIA
I only add the Married Name if it is different than the cultural norm. For me in the US it is if the woman does not simply take her husband’s surname. i.e. using a hyphenated name or staying with her birth name, etc.
For multiple marriages, for the second, third (or more) marriage, I put the woman’s previous married name in the new marriage’s Description field.
I am sure other users have other practices.
